I just received the powerpoint and couldnt believe they were paintings. So I googled her and found they are indeed photography. Pretty good - but why the misrepresentation of her as an artist of the above photos?
what, really two different artists? because in the e-mail it doesnt call them paintings, it merely says that she studied painting in art college. so i guess people just make that assumption. Very beautiful photography though
They struck me as photos right from the start, as I wondered why an artist would spend the time to paint such detail of such mundane scenes as occur in Flickr all the time!!!
What a pleasure to view Anna's imagery!
ReplyDeleteThese photos are being misrepresented as paintings by Kostenko on an email circulating with a powerpoint slide file (.pps)
ReplyDeleteMost gorgeous photos and superlative composition!
ReplyDeleteI'm speechless! Such beauty and emotion!

ReplyDelete"why the misrepresentation?"
ReplyDeleteBecause there are two Anna Kostenkos, and one is a painter!
Probably an honest mistake by the originator of the PPS

ReplyDeleteLooks like a shameless way of self promotion. The misleading email is titled: "These Are NOT Photos - Incredible!"
ReplyDeleteNo assumptions required.
